Why we exist
IT Drone Services was born from a conviction that the future of aerial autonomy, security, and infrastructure would be written by those who dared to build — not only by those who already dominated the market.
We engineer proprietary artificial intelligence for unmanned aerial systems, developed entirely in the United Kingdom with full data sovereignty and GDPR compliance. Our drones are learning to see, to decide, to react, and to learn — autonomously, in real time.

IT Drone and Software Services Ltd is founded in Bournemouth by Frank Coelho. CAA commercial operator certification obtained. Retail kiosk launched. First commercial drone filming and inspection jobs delivered.

Appointed to Crown Commercial Service frameworks for Space Technology Solutions and Low Value Payment Solutions. Approved as YPO Supplier for public sector procurement. UICS platform development begins.

Full product suite defined: UICS, Lone Eagle, USURPER, AIRR Inspection, and AgriDrone. Proprietary AI platform developed in-house with real-time drone telemetry relay and autonomous decision-making capabilities.

UKRI research award
UKRI AIRR awards on Isambard-AI — the UK's national AI supercomputer. 39+ YOLO11 models trained across 10 operational domains, with published state-of-the-art beaten on counter-UAS and thermal ISR benchmarks, measured on the official test splits.

Building with deep roots
Expanding commercial operations, growing the client base, and advancing AI training on sovereign UK infrastructure. A full proposal submitted to DASA for autonomous GNSS-denied navigation, and a proposal to NATO's DIANA accelerator for counter-UAS air defence. The first signs of harvest are appearing — small, quiet, but real. The best is yet to come.

Founder & Director of Engineering
Frank Coelho is the founder of IT Drone and Software Services Ltd — a hands-on engineer, pilot and entrepreneur who writes the code, flies the drones, trains the AI models and serves the clients. Every architecture, every model and every line of code behind the DroneFormer™ platform carries his direct technical involvement.
The company began with no laboratory, no investors and no hundred-strong team of engineers — only conviction, discipline and faith. That is still how it is run today: excellence is not what you do once, it's what you repeat until it becomes standard; and resilience is not a motivational speech — it is a method, the daily choice to treat every failure as data, never as a verdict.
Frank's work is rooted in faith in God and guided by Biblical values. Every door opens at the right time; every decision is weighed against integrity, honesty and gratitude. He builds in the conviction that a business can grow without cutting corners — and that this, more than any technology, is what earns lasting trust.
